The Heritage Range

Heritage style windows and doors have rarely been more popular – and that’s largely down to the fact that you can now achieve the classic steel industrial look of the 1920s and 30s in more durable and energy efficient aluminium.

In the UK, demand for aluminium is growing in two main heritage settings. The first is in dated installations, where those original non-thermally broken steel windows have long outlived their usefulness, but property owners haven’t been able to afford replacements. And the second is in new builds and refurbishments where design conscious property owners want to achieve the on-trend Art Deco aesthetic.

There are lots of reasons why aluminium is such an attractive alternative to steel – not least the fact that you can replicate the sleek lines and slim sightlines of the originals very effectively in aluminium, but at a more cost effective price.

Aluminium also has proven sustainability benefits of course - did we mention that 90% of aluminium used in construction is recycled at the end of its working life? And, with the very latest thermal break technology, it delivers outstanding comfort and thermal efficiency.

AluK’s range of Heritage doors and windows are equally at both home in traditional and new build settings and they are fully suited across sightlines and hardware, so if you are planning a whole house makeover, you can achieve a uniform look throughout.

Reassuringly, they are widely approved for use in conservation areas as well so, unless your home is listed or has an Article 4 direction in place, you shouldn’t have any problems with planning.

Our Heritage door, with its slim 51.7mm sightlines, can be fitted as a single or a double door and you can use it to create a hugely fashionable fully glazed wall by adding fan and side lights with matching fixed light transoms. Our Heritage windows have sightlines or just 43mm in a fixed light and 66mm frame to vent and there are lots of opening configurations available so you can choose what suits you and your home best.

While the standard finish for our Heritage range is standard matt black, you can choose any colour or finish from our colour collection and you can add period inspired handles in matt black, antique bronze, heritage black or heritage grey.
