Myth-Busting

Is aluminium cold? The exact answer is no, modern aluminium frames are using thermal break which helps to regulate heat.

Many people think that aluminium is cold to the touch, and that installing an aluminium window frame or door will lead to their home feeling chilly. This was certainly true in 1970s and 1980s, when aluminium window frames become popular with homeowners. However, modern-day aluminium windows and door frames are much more effective at keeping your rooms warm in the cold winter months. This is because modern frames contain something called a ‘thermal break’. A thermal break is a piece of material (usually polyamide or polyurethane) placed between the inside and outside section of the frame. This thermal break helps to regulate heat and prevent energy loss.
